Angola: João Lourenço refutes split idea in MPLA

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 17 - MPLA deputy president João Lourenço refuted this Saturday in Luanda the idea that there is a division within the party that places the militants between its supporters and party leader José Eduardo dos Santos.,

Speaking at the opening of the second methodological meeting on the organization of party work, the vice-president argued that, throughout its history, the MPLA has faced and overcame difficult moments, where in some cases it has had divisions that weakened it, but always knew how to avoid worse consequences.

For this reason, he said that "whenever possible we must work in advance to prevent it. This is a concern that must be permanent, because inside and outside the party there have always been those who are interested in eroding the MPLA, so that it does not fulfill its historical mission. "

In this way, João Lourenço exhorted all militants, friends and supporters of the political party not to get carried away by supposed "Eduardistas" or "Lourencistas", because there are no divisions within the party.

In this sense, "we strongly reject this idea created and diffused in some circles of our society with the aim of dividing us. This does not exist, within us there are only MPELISTS, because we defend all the MPLA and its causes ".
