WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, March 5, 2018 /EINPresswire.com/ -- It’s been said that 2018 is the year of the woman and Women Veterans ROCK! is doing its part to provide impactful and empowering opportunities for America’s Women Veteran’s Community. Women Veterans ROCK and The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation are empowering today’s Military Women through Civic Engagement and Public Leadership.

In celebration of Women’s History Month Women Veterans ROCK! has pledged to prepare over 100 Women Veterans on March 15, 2018, for Civic Leadership through their Public Policy Day on Capitol Hill.

“Research shows that when we are engaged in a strong professional network, America’s Military Women are better able to prosper in their field, expand their influence and excel when positioned incompatible leadership opportunities,” says, Deborah Harmon-Pugh, President of The Healthy Caregiver Community Foundation and National Campaign Chair of Women Veterans ROCK!

The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation is comprised of 100 of the region’s leading Military Women and Military Advocacy Organizations. The Public Policy Day on Capitol Hill provides Delegates with the opportunity to visit with Congressional Members, Senate Leaders, and Hill Staffers. Women Veterans will share their experiences; challenges; best practices; and victories with members of The Delegation and Legislative Leaders.

“The overall goal of The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation is Building Positive and Productive Partnerships with our new Partners on The Hill,” says Harmon-Pugh.
Invited Civic and Congressional Leaders include: Amy Hjerstedt, Woman Veteran and Director of The League of Women Voters of the United States; Congresswoman, Aumua Amata, serving American Samoa ; Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard serving Hawaii's 2nd congressional district and serves as a Major in the Hawaii Army National Guard; Senator Tammy Duckworth retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, serving as the junior United States Senator for Illinois.
