The Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan is taking measures for construction of gas turbine power station with capacity of 432 MW in Charjew district of Lebap region, Vatan newspaper wrote.
The relevant report was presented at the working government meeting. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the state energy policy is aimed at full satisfaction of demands of industry, agriculture and social sector of Turkmenistan.
Dwelling on the issue of commissioning of additional generation facilities of electric power industry, the head of state said it is necessary to continue work in this area.
"This will allow for meeting the annually growing internal consumption of electricity, as well as to increase its export through both the existing and new routes," the message quoted Berdimuhamedov as saying.
It was reported earlier that the Japan Bank for International Cooperation - JBIC expressed its readiness to finance the project of construction of gas turbine power station in Charjew district of Lebap region of Turkmenistan.
