Iran, Azerbaijan FMs Discuss Bolstering Bilateral Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional issues, and certain matters of mutual interest.

Abbas Araqchi and his Azeri counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation initiated by the Azerbaijani side on Wednesday afternoon.

During the conversation, both sides emphasized the development of bilateral political relations and discussed issues related to expanding cooperation between the two countries in areas such as energy, transit, transportation, border affairs, and the implementation of mutual agreements and economic projects.

They also addressed coordination regarding future visits by high-ranking officials of the two countries, according to the website of Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

The Iranian top diplomat underscored the Islamic Republic of Iran's continued approach based on the policy of good neighborliness and the development of relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan in various fields.
