A week-long enforcement operation involving several federal agencies led to four illegal migrants being arrested.
The operation focused on the areas of Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Roswell.

Twenty of the 48 arrested were arrested for serious offenses such as homicide, sexual assault, drug trafficking, intoxicated driving, shoplifting and other crimes, according to Homeland Security.
The other 28 arrests were for immigration violations such as illegal entry or re-entry. Twenty-one of the arrested have been given final orders of removal by an immigration judge.
New Mexico Immigration and Customs Enforcement was assisted by the FBI, U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
