MATCH ENDS, BORUSSIA DORTMUND WILL BE IN THE UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINALS! The Germans manage to recover from a bad first half, come from behind and will face Barcelona for a place in the semifinals of the competition. 

An additional 4 minutes will be added. This will be the time LOSC Lille will have left to make history, tie the match and force extra time that will allow them to dream of reaching the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.

Niko Kovac also made three substitutions: Gross, Julian Brandt and striker Beier were replaced by Giovanni Reyna, Gittens and Chukwuemeka. With these changes, the Germans want to defend a little more with the ball and take advantage of Gittens' speed in a counterattack. 

Lille is determined to make a comeback. Double substitution in the French team, with Mukau and Haraldsson coming off and former Barcelona player André Gomes and Sarahoui coming on in their place. Last chance to change the course of the match. 

LILLE HAD THE EQUALIZER. A good cross from Haraldsson from the right flank and Canadian striker Jhonatan David's right-footed shot was a bit awkward, but Kobel was well positioned and managed to save the ball.

After a few minutes where the pace of the game slowed down, Lille pushed forward again and again made an impact in the visitors' zone. The left winger Haraldsson shot from half distance and Kobel sent the ball to the corner. 

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL for Borussia Dortmund. Captain Emre Can exchanges the penalty for the goal and the Germans tie the match and the series. With this result, the match goes into extra time.  

Penaaaaaaaaaaal for Borussia Dortmund. Guirassy bites into space and beats ex-BVB full-back Meunier to the ball and he pushes and drops the Frenchman. Pending a VAR review, the Germans have a huge chance to equalize.

The second half kicks off between LOSC Lille vs Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League round of 16. At the moment, the French take the partial victory by 1-0 thanks to a goal by Jhonatan David, 

After a few minutes in which the home side regained possession of the ball, Borussia Dortmund regained possession of the ball, but were unable to take any deep chances and their game plan was focused on shooting cross balls.

Borussia Dortmund right-back Waldemar Anton receives a yellow card for a hard foul on Haraldsson on the right side of the Germans' defense. First card for Borussia Dortmund and first caution of the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16. 

Following a foul by Emre Can on Jhonatan David, Lille had a free kick close to Kobel's goal. Cabella made a clever move with a cross to the far post, but Alexsandro's header was not the best and sent the ball out of play. 

After a few intense minutes, the match entered a valley in which the ball circulated in the middle of the field. It was a fairly even match in which the locals managed to impose themselves in the first minutes, while from the 15th minute the Germans settled in the opponent's field. 

Borussia Dortmund finally reacted. This time it was left winger Ryerson, who recovered the ball, latched on to it, shot to the far post and Chevalier's hand was well saved to send the ball into the corner. 

First arrival of Borussia Dortmund. After a lot of pressure from Gross, BVB moved quickly into attack, Guirassy pivoted very well, then passed it back to Gross who shot first time with his left foot, but Chevalier was able to save the ball. 

Another shot from the locals. On this occasion, Haraldsson put a lofted pass into the box and the talented #10 Cabella struck a first-time shot, but it went just wide of the goal. The visitors are still unresponsive. 

After the goal, the French continued to control the match at will, while the Germans were unable to find a comfortable position on the pitch and were stunned and unable to react. 
Jhonatan David has now scored 7 goals in 10 UEFA Champions League matches.

LOSC Lille vs Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 kicks off. The score of the first leg match was 1-1, in case the tie continues, extra time will be played and if necessary penalties. 

Both teams take the field at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille. They settle on the pitch and listen to the mythical and glorious UEFA Champions League anthem. The match is about to kick off and the quarterfinals of this competition are about to begin. 

After the warm-up and pre-competitive work, both teams return to their locker rooms to finish receiving the final instructions for the match and to get dressed in their kits for the start of the match. 

LOSC Lille will wear their traditional uniform of red shirt, blue shorts and blue socks. While the visitors will wear their traditional yellow jersey with some black stripes, yellow shorts and yellow socks.

The first leg between Lille and Borussia Dortmund played at the Signal Iduna Park ended 1-1. The goals were scored by Adeyemi for the Germans in the 22nd minute and the equalizer was scored by Haraldsson in the 68th minute.  It was a fairly even match, in which the Germans were unable to impose their home advantage and lost a great chance to take advantage at home and have the series in their favor. On the part of the French, it was a great result, equaling the game and keeping the series alive to define at home with their fans.

They have faced each other a total of 3 times throughout history, leaving a balance of no victory for any team and three draws. The last match was the first leg of this UEFA Champions League, ending 1-1, while the other two date back to the round of 16 of the 2001/2002 UEFA Cup, where they ended 1-1 and 0-0, with the Germans advancing to the next round on away goals. On that occasion, BVB reached the final, where they lost 3-2 to Feyenord. 

The team coached by Niko Kovac wants to equal and why not improve on the results of the last edition of the UEFA Champions League. However, this season seems much more complicated than the last one, as they are in tenth position in the Bundesliga, seven points behind the UEFA Champions League places. 
In the European competition, they finished in tenth position in the group, which forced them to play in the round of 32, where they faced Sporting of Portugal, beating them 3-0 on aggregate. 

French coach Bruno Génésio's men are looking to continue making history in the UEFA Champions League.  If they get through this round, they would improve their best participation in the competition. To do so, they must overcome BVB. 
In the group stage, they surprised Europe by getting into the top 8, where they only lost one match, drew two and won 5, beating Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and a 6-1 thrashing of Feyenoord on the last matchday, which allowed them to establish themselves in the top 8 and continue their European dream.

The UEFA Champions League round of 16 match between LOSC Lille vs Borussia Dortmund will be played at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium, located in the city of Lille, France. Inaugurated in 2012 and has a capacity of 50,000 spectators at soccer matches.
