Imagine the media and political treatment President Trump would have gotten had he gone missing during the Iranian-backed assault on the U. S. Embassy in Baghdad last week.

Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats would have impeached him again, while The New York Times would have called for his resignation for going AWOL.

But unlike his predecessor, the sainted Barack Obama, who disappeared during the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi that took four American lives, Trump was clearly visible and in charge. The killing of the murderous Iranian Quds Force Gen. Qassem Soleimani attested to that.

Yet the Democrats and the media hate Trump so much that they practically ended up attacking Trump and rooting for Iran

Unlike Obama, who hid out, Trump responded quickly when he sent a company of Marines from Kuwait to bolster the embassy’s defenses in the face of two days of attacks by Iranian sponsored militants and terrorists The New York Times called “mourners.”

The attackers were “mourning” the deaths of 25 terrorists killed by the U.S. by firebombing the embassy. Those terrorists were killed earlier in their camps in Iraq and Syria by American airstrikes in response to their killing of an American contractor. The assault on the embassy was in retaliation.

Now with Soleimani dead they really do have something to mourn about.

The attackers pulled back after the Marines arrived, and after more U.S. troops were on the way to ward off future attacks and  beat back the Iranian destabilization of Iraq.

“Iran will be held fully responsible for lives lost, or damage incurred, at any of our facilities,” Trump said. “They will pay a very big price. This is not a warning; it is a threat.” Soleimani should have listened.

Baghdad was not going to be another Benghazi, at least not on his watch.

Naturally neither the media, which is 90% negative towards Trump, nor the Democrats were pleased, and attacked Trump for starting the fight in the first place.

These are the same entities that forgave and excused Saint Obama for his disgraceful disappearance during the deadly 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S Consulate in Benghazi.

The difference between the two presidents and the two events, and how they reacted, is clear. Trump stood up and Obama stood down.

Obama made no effort to come to the aid of the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, already undermanned, when it came under an al-Qaeda terrorist attack that went on for eight hours.

Four Americans were killed, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, after pleas for help went unanswered even though the U.S. had forces on standby alert in Sicily that could have been sent to help.

Not only did Obama fail to attempt a rescue, but he and his team lied to the American people when Obama sent out a false narrative — even when he knew the truth — that the attack  was a spontaneous protest sparked by a video that nobody saw, and not a planned al-Qaeda terrorist attack.

That lie was pushed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and national security adviser Susan Rice, who went on five Sunday television programs to push the phony narrative.

All the while Obama and his crew knew the story they pushed was false. Obama was the biggest culprit. As commander in chief, he was supposed to be in command. Instead he walked away and washed his hands of responsibility and leadership.

Outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta testified in 2013 at a Congressional hearing that he informed Obama of the attack — that went on for eight hours — one hour and 18 minutes after it began.

Instead of taking command, Panetta said that Obama told him that the response “was up to us,” meaning him and Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Panetta had no further conversations with Obama or the White House during the ongoing attack, nor did Obama or anyone from the White House call him for any updates.

In addition, Panetta and Dempsey testified that neither of them talked with Clinton during hours of the long attack.

Nothing more was heard from Obama that night. He disappeared.

What he did following his meeting with Panetta, went unreported and remains unreported to this day.

Four Americans who could have been saved lay dead.

The next day Obama flew to California for a fundraiser.

Bravo Donald Trump.

Now get us out of there.
