Add another 2019 in-state player with an offer from Alabama.

Clay-Chalkville's DJ Dale -- a 6-foot-2, 330-pound defensive lineman -- received an offer from Alabama today. Dale already held offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Louisville.

Dale emerged as a dominant inside player in 2017 as the Cougars advanced to the Class 6A semifinals, recording 38 tackles, including 14 for a loss, while constantly demanding double-teams. He also caught a touchdown pass in the semifinal loss to eventual Class 6A state champ Pinson Valley.

Dale's combination of size and athleticism fits the profile of an Alabama defensive end in Nick Saban's 3-4 scheme.

"We are very proud and excited for the opportunities DJ  has to play at the next level," Clay-Chalkville coach Drew Gilmer said. "It's always exciting to see these young men grow up and become successful people. WE all know DJ is a great football player, but what you need to know is he is an even better person. That is what makes him so special."

Alabama has offered a number of other 2019 Alabama high school players, including Thompson quarterback Taulia TagovailoaHewitt-Trussville quarterback Paul Tyson, Thompson offensive lineman Amari Kight, Daphne cornerback Christian WilliamsLanett defensive back Trikweze Bridges and Oxford five-star offensive lineman Clay Webb.

Dale earned a spot on AL.com's 2017 All-Birmingham Team and the ASWA Class 6A All-State Team.

Another Clay-Chalkville defensive lineman, Quinton Dial, excelled at Alabama and helped the Cirmson Tide win natinoal titles in 2011 and 2012.
