Ukraine ready to consider possibility of talks on FTA with Albania - Klympush-Tsintsadze

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze has said that Ukraine is ready to consider the possibility of negotiations on a free trade zone with Albania.

According to the press service of the deputy PM, she said this during her meeting with Albania's Minister of State for Diaspora Pandeli Majko.

According to the deputy prime minister, the Ukrainian side is ready to analyze the possibilities for concluding an agreement on free trade within the framework of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The draft of the provision on such a commission in November 2017 was transferred by the Albanian side to Ukraine for further processing.

"The intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which work is continuing, should become a good basis for the start of negotiations on the establishment of a free trade zone between Ukraine and Albania," the press service quoted Klympush-Tsintsadze as saying.

She also noted that Kyiv is also ready to resume the work of the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Tirana.
