She's had her star-studded baby shower and with just a few weeks to go till the little one arrives, motherhood is just around the corner for Serena Williams.

The mum-to-be and tennis ace has kept her fans updated about her pregnancy with gorgeous photos of her growing bump.

The one thing we don't know is the baby's gender - which the Serena, the winner of 23 grand slam titles has opted to not find out.

Not that she doesn't have an inkling.

Mum knows best

"Two weeks after we found out, I played the Australian Open,” the proud mum-to-be explained.

"I was playing in 100-degree weather, and that baby never gave me any trouble. Ride or die. Women are tough that way."

We couldn't agree more.

Williams announced in April that she and her fiancé Alexis Ohanian were expecting a baby.

She was also very honest about her fear of pain, saying:

"I'm not a spring chicken," she remarked. "The one thing I really want is an epidural, which I know a lot of people are against, but I've had surgeries galore, and I don't need to experience any more pain if I can avoid it."

Being a professional sportswoman, Williams also revealed there'd be no extended maternity leave.

"I used to think I'd want to retire when I have kids, but no. I'm definitely coming back.

"Walking out there and hearing the crowd, it may seem like nothing. But there’s no better feeling in the world. If anything, this pregnancy has given me a new power."
